Took the “shortcut” from Franklin. HAHAHA. That’s not a shortcut, that’s a roller coaster with deer and fog. Stopped for gas, accidentally joined a church pancake breakfast, left with a pamphlet and two phone numbers.

I'll second the warning about javelinas! I thought they were cute until one snatched a granola bar right out of my pack. Big Bend is magic, though.
