Stayed in a B&B outside Viroqua—owners swore the house was haunted. Woke up to footsteps and cinnamon rolls.

Is it just me or is Marfa like 60% art and 40% dust? Saw a gallery with a cow skull and a boot nailed to the wall, and I’m still not sure if it was for sale or just Texas decor. Had the best cold brew, tho.

My friend made me try boiled peanuts from a gas station. Verdict: salty regret. Got caught in a downpour, hid in the aquarium with a bunch of kids on a field trip. Still got wet. What’s with the alligators everywhere?

Met a herd of prairie dogs and one very suspicious-looking hawk. Ended the day at a BBQ joint in Cottonwood Falls that changed my life.

If you’re in Branson after dark, eat at Danna’s (BBQ, trust me) then go ride the Ferris Wheel for those Ozark views. Watch the traffic—sometimes it’s faster to just park and walk the strip.


Weirdest thing I saw? A guy selling Elvis bobbleheads out of a canoe. (I didn’t ask.)

Drove out thinking it’d be like Red Rocks in Colorado. NOPE. Got lost, phone said “you’re on your own.” Stopped to pee behind a bush—startled a jackrabbit the size of a small dog.
My wife yelled at me for getting red dust on the sandwiches. Ended up eating lunch on a boulder shaped like Elvis ...
