Strangest Thing You’ve Seen at a Buc-ee’s in Alabama?

Buc-ee’s is an experience. Last week, I saw someone buying a giant plush beaver and a whole brisket at 2am. What’s your weirdest Buc-ee’s sighting? Bonus points for photographic evidence.

Is it just me, or is Buc-ee’s a tourist attraction now? #bucees #roadtripstories #alabamawild

Lost in the Sipsey Wilderness—Send Snacks!

I set out for a “quick hike” in Sipsey and, three hours later, I was having a staring contest with a suspiciously smart-looking raccoon. Pro tip: The trails look easy on the map, but once you’re in there, every creek crossing feels like a plot twist.

Lost in the Sipsey Wilderness—Send Snacks!

Was supposed to do a simple loop but now my granola bars are gone and I think I’m being mocked by a squirrel. Sipsey’s trails are gorgeous, but cell service is a myth. Tip: drop a pin at the trailhead and pack twice the snacks. #sipsey #lostagain

RE: Blue Spring, Missouri: Ozark Oasis

North Dakota weather: snow, wind, blue sky. Missouri weather: frogs, fog, humidity and then, wham, paradise pool in the forest. Chased a butterfly, lost my hat, made a new friend who told me the best picnic spot (not telling).

RE: Boonville, Missouri: Wine, History & River Views

If you haven’t been to the Cooper’s Oak Winery, you’re not living. Barrels everywhere, super friendly folks, and the owner told the wildest story about a 1970s steamboat poker run. Plus, the old jail’s open for tours if you like your history with a side of “creepy.”

RE: Lindsborg, Kansas: Prairie Charm Meets Swedish Sass

Biked the whole city loop—ate two donuts, crashed into a flower pot, and waved at a marching band practicing in June. 10/10 would ride again.

RE: Tampa, Florida: Sun, Storms & Strange Encounters

I went for the food, stayed for the thunderstorms, and got chased out by a flock of angry egrets. Still have sand in my pockets and sunscreen in my eyes. 10/10, would eat a Cuban sandwich again.
