Stayed in Kalispell last summer, found a bar with live bluegrass (no suprise there lol).
One guy played the banjo with his feet. Not even kidding. Met some folks from Minnesota who claim they come every year just for the pies and hikes.

IU in the fall—wow. The campus trees put on a show! Don’t skip the farmers market for local jams and fresh baked bread. Also, Oliver Winery does tastings and has a gorgeous picnic area. Anyone do the Hilly Hundred bike ride?

Didn’t expect to find so much Scandinavian spirit in Iowa, but Decorah delivers. This town’s got more Norwegian flags than a fjord-side ferry. I rolled in for Nordic Fest, stuck around for trout streams and limestone bluffs, and left with a suitcase smelling like fresh-baked lefse.
