Stopped at a roadside stand—bought peaches, left with a rescue dog (no joke). Highlands = full of surprises.
Also, rained every single afternoon. Is that normal??

Came to visit friends in Highlands, left wishing I lived there. Got caught in a downpour hiking to Glen Falls, ended up taking shelter under a bridge with a family from Florida and a dog named Waffles.
Heard live bluegrass at the Ugly Dog—if you leave without hearing “Wagon Wheel” twice, you weren’t really there.
Every single photo I took looks like a Windows wallpaper. I lost my sunglasses, my patience, and my fear of carbs (that bakery, y’all).
Seriously considering moving here to sell fudge and raincoats.

Did the whole “waterfall tour”—sat on a rock, lost my sandwich to a duck, saw a couple get engaged at Glen Falls, and got sunburned on just my left ear.
Next trip: more sunscreen, fewer sandwiches.

Heard a kid busking on Main Street—banjo, harmonica, and what I *think* was a kazoo. Highlands, you weird, I like you.

Just here for the epic waterfall hikes and to search for that dang lost boot.

Can’t decide if the coffee or the rain is stronger. Both will keep you awake past midnight in this town.
